Built in faith.
Rooted in Detroit.
Poured from a life lived in service to others.

The Story
I grew up in Detroit. For over 11 years I've worked in education — serving as a teacher and now as an assistant principal, pouring into Detroit's youth and families every single day. Along the way I became a certified life coach, a youth and parent coach, a wellness coach, and a Pilates instructor. I built a wellness company called The Self Project focused on helping women find healing through mindfulness, movement, and community.
But through all of it — something kept pulling at me. A vision I could not shake. A space I kept seeing in my mind. A place where everything I had learned, everything I had built, and everyone I had served could finally come together.
A wellness center. In Detroit. For the people who helped shape me.
So I prayed about it. I fasted over it. I journaled through it. And when I finally got still enough to listen — God gave me the green light.
Community Empowered Wellness Center is that yes.
The Family Legacy
What makes this story even more sacred is the space itself. The building that will house CEWC has been held by my family for years — a legacy passed down through love and hard work. My parents have poured into this vision from the very beginning — covering renovations, believing in the mission, and entrusting a family treasure to a purpose bigger than any of us.
This is not just a wellness center. It is a family inheritance being returned to the community it was always meant to serve.
The Foundation
Community Empowered Wellness Center is built on a foundation that took years to develop:
Over 11 years of direct service to Detroit youth and families in education
Certified Life Coach, Youth and Parent Coach, Wellness Coach, and Pilates Instructor
Active 501c3 nonprofit structure
Physical space secured through family legacy in Detroit
An existing wellness community built through The Self Project
The Vision
By Fall 2027 the Community Empowered Wellness Center will open its doors as a fully operational three pillar wellness hub — offering mental health resources and life coaching, mindful movement classes, and educational and career advancement support.
Detroit has been waiting for this space. We are building it for them.
I cannot have faith and fear in the same place. So I chose faith.
And I am inviting Detroit to build this with me.
